Profile

Rafael Jiménez Castañeda is Tenured Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Cádiz. He has obtained a PhD with the research titled "Determination of Design and Optimum Energy Efficiency in a Photovoltaic Grid Connected Plants” and holds degrees of Engineer in Industrial Organization and Industrial Technical Engineer in electricity with two specialties: Lines and Power grids and - Industrial Electronics.

He has worked as a R&D advisor of different spin-off companies of the University of Cadiz, and delivered communications, workshops presentations and Master classes. He has taght the USAC Expert Title course (Guatemala), was a professor of the University of Cadiz Master in Cooperation for Development and Master in Management of Alternative Energies and director of Expert Courses in Alternative energies, as well as given Circular Economy Sessions in province of Cadiz.

Additional experience relevant to the scopes of the SILKWAY project includes work in the areas of small hydropower, biomass, RE future development, environment and renewable energy and impact environmental analysis, PV modules recycling and silicon waste processing.

Rafael Jiménez's vast experience in the field of renewable energy was implemented at the PCI UTP-Panama project Embark funded by AECID -Researcher integrated action program in the PCI Guatemala, the TEMPUS JAMILA project, LIFE+ Project. AQUASEF Improvement of Aquaculture Plants with Eco Efficiency Technologies, ERASMUS+ DIEGO, LETI project at the Electrotechnical University of Saint Petersburg.
